Drottning (meaning Queen) lives up to her name.  She is our alpha mare and head of her herd.  She has beautiful color with bold dappling and long winter feathers.  She is confident and a good schooling horse. Drottning has  a wonderful conformation and a powerful fast tolt. She is friendly and likes attention yet is always respectful. Drottning  is five gaited and she has a nice form under rider. Whether you are looking for a horse to show off in competition/ shows/ on the trail or to breed high quality Icelandic horses, she is a top candidate.

Drottning, imported, was professionally trained under saddle in Iceland. She has had extensive professional training in the US and has official FEIF evaluation scores (see below). After having her second foal she has been ridden by amateur riders as well as advanced and participated in many clinics and shows.

Nott and her flashy look is a show stopper. She is tall and elegant with tons of mane and lots of energy. Nott is cautiously friendly and very responsive on the ground and under saddle. She is five gaited and is the perfect candidate for competitions or shows as she is both spirited and talented.

Polstjarna from Red Feather Ranch

CHESTNUT WITH FLAXEN MANE & TAIL AND STAR - FOALED 2003
Registration: Pending
Sire: Hugur frá Hofsstaðaseli
Dam: Elding from NN

Polstjarna is four gaited, has a nice conformation and is a very talented mare. She is very willing and solid on the trails, not spooky about the environment and perfectly fine going with or without another horse. She is our farm favorite we count on for beginner riders for her easy even temperament, but is a highly talented mare and a joy to ride for advanced riders as well. Her gaits are very well separated and easy to ride so that even children can tolt her on their first attempt. Polstjarna has also been trained to pony other horses, which comes in handy on long trail rides. Polstjarna is a candidate for evaluation.

Flikka from Extreme Ranch

LIGHT BUCKSKIN PINTO - FOALED 2005
Registration: US2005204368
Sire:
Fáfnir frá Sandhólaferju IS1988186462
Dam:  Depla from Iceland Horse Acres US1996202481

Flikka is a beautiful buckskin pinto that joined the Red Feather Herd in 2011. She was extremely shy and scared by people when she arrived, but gradually improved quickly. After a month of gentle work she already allowed the trainer to lead her around and pet her. After 2 years of gentle training we are now trying to ride her. She is already accepting a saddle on her back and is getting used to a bit. But even if her training should fail in the end due to her natural respect of humans, she would still be able to become a great brood mare. Her offsprings would inherit Flikka's great moves in every gait and maybe even her dashing color.

Stássa from Red Feather Ranch

BLACK - FOALED 2011
Registration: US2011204551
Sire: Svartbakur frá Hólum IS1996158310
Dam: Nott from Red Feather Ranch US1997201335

Stássa was born in the end of May 2011 and started running around and eating hay and grain on day one! Just like her dam, she is a true black, who will likely inherit her mother´s  long mane and her five perfectly separated and elegant gaits, so typical of a Wiesenhof breeding. She always comes to the gate when a person is entering the paddock, and loves to get her back and her mane rubbed and groomed. She curiously explores her environment and the big pasture, on which she spends the days and plays a lot with our mare Elska. Even though she is only 2 years old she already leads very well and stands nicely for the ferrier.
