Breeding Seminar - Assessing our Horses - with Arnar Bjarki Sigurðarson

  • Red Feather Icelandics 47-99 Sunnyside Rd Trout Lake, WA, 98650 United States (map)

Arnar Bjarki Sigurðarson, International Breeding Judge, will be conducting a one day breeders educational clinic. He will be reviewing the processes, scoring and thinking of the breed evaluation, the young horse evaluation in Linear Format and introducing us to the new Riding Horse Assessment Tool.

Arnar will have Classroom and arena lectures using your horse and ours breaking down the evaluation process, there will be some 'under saddle' time to correlate what we see with performance. You will gain an understanding of the weight each component of both ride ability and conformation plays in the overall score of a horse.

Learn what to look for in a horse, how physiology impacts talent, and what the current thinking is regarding the desired 'look' of the Icelandic Horse and the proper definition regarding 'spirit', and understand the thinking and the tools behind the Riding Horse Assessment and how this differs from the Breed Evaluation.

The Seminar will be followed by a Young Horse Evaluation on Monday. Fee is $50 per Horse.
